Equal1 demonstrated its RacQ quantum computer to An Taoiseach Micheál Martin at the International AI Summit 2026 in Dublin, showcasing Ireland's progress in bringing quantum computing out of the laboratory and into real-world data center environments.
Equal1 also presented RacQ to Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke; Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless; and Orla Feely, highlighting the company's advances in commercially deployable quantum technology.
The demonstration gave government and industry leaders a firsthand look at RacQ, Equal1's self-contained, rack-mounted quantum computer. Built on silicon-spin qubit technology, RacQ integrates quantum processing with classical CPU and GPU capabilities, a closed-cycle cryogenic system and power consumption of approximately 1.6 kW. The system is designed to operate within standard data center infrastructure without the specialized facilities traditionally associated with quantum computing.
Equal1 CEO Jason Lynch also participated in the panel discussion “The AI Backbone: Power, Cloud and Critical Infrastructure,” alongside John Thornhill, Robin Colwell, Charlotte Baylac de La Codre and Deepu Talla. The discussion explored the growing demands on AI infrastructure and how quantum computing can complement CPUs, GPUs and AI accelerators in next-generation hybrid computing architectures.
As AI drives increasing demand for computing power, Equal1 is focused on making quantum computing a practical extension of existing computing infrastructure. By leveraging established semiconductor manufacturing processes, the company is developing scalable, energy-efficient quantum systems designed for commercial deployment.
Equal1's participation at the International AI Summit highlighted Ireland's growing role in quantum computing innovation and the opportunity for quantum technology to become an integral part of future AI and high-performance computing infrastructure.
