The Future of Hybrid Computing

July 22, 2026

When Dell's CTO describes the future of hybrid computing, he points to RacQ.

In his interview with The Next Platform for this article, John Roese, Global Chief Technology Officer and Chief AI Officer at Dell Technologies, discussed the industry's move toward hybrid quantum-classical infrastructure using Equal1's RacQ as an example of how quantum systems can integrate into modern data centers.

Speaking about RacQ alongside Dell's classical infrastructure, Roese said: "I could roll that in right next to an NVIDIA NVL72 rack and connect the two things together and I have all the basic compute to do a CPU-GPU-QPU system."

That vision is exactly what RacQ was designed to enable.

Rather than treating quantum as a standalone technology, RacQ brings quantum computing into the data center as part of a hybrid architecture, working alongside CPUs and GPUs to solve the workloads each processor is best suited for. At Dell Technologies World, RacQ was demonstrated with Dell PowerEdge servers, to show how quantum can integrate into enterprise infrastructure using familiar deployment models.

As the industry moves beyond proof-of-concepts toward practical deployment, it's rewarding to see leaders across the ecosystem aligned on the role hybrid quantum-classical computing will play in the future of enterprise computing.
