Junior Cryogenic Mechanical Engineer
The Junior Cryogenic Mechanical Engineer will assist in designing, developing, and testing cryogenic systems for our Quantum Computers. This role requires a strong understanding of cryogenic principles, thermal management, and mechanical design. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to bring innovative cryogenic solutions to life.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Design and develop cryogenic components, including:

Cryogenic coolers & liquefiers

Vacuum chambers and insulation systems

Transfer lines and cryogenic valves

Select and implement appropriate materials for cryogenic applications.

Participate in the development and execution of cryogenic testing procedures.

Collaborate with manufacturing and procurement teams to ensure successful fabrication and implementation of cryogenic components.

Document design decisions, analyses, and test results.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant cryogenic standards and regulations.

Perform thermal and structural analysis of cryogenic systems using finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
Desired Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Strong understanding of cryogenic principles, including heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.

Experience with thermal and structural analysis using FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).

Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, OnShape, CATIA, etc.) for mechanical design.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with vacuum technology is a plus.

Knowledge and experience with Space (LEO) environments.
